Gardens of the Way of the Cross

Montreal is full of beautiful, old churches; some decked and gilded and others, simple and modest. St. Josephs Oratory of Mount Royal is one of those churches. It is Canada’s largest church. It’s copper dome is over 300 ft making it visible from many points in the city. It was my goal to visit this beautiful structure. And I did. And it was enjoyable. But the Gardens of the Way of the Cross was a pleasant surprise that I almost passed up. And i’m glad I took the extra time to stroll through this peace-filled garden which tells the story of the crucifixion with artwork conceived by Louis Parent. It’s a place full of peace and reverence, and probably one of Montreal’s best kept secrets.

Enjoy this stroll…
